Biological Activity
Chlorantraniliprole is an anthranilic diamide insecticide that selectively activates insect ryanodine receptors (RyRs), causing uncontrolled release of calcium from muscle cells, leading to rapid paralysis and death.
Spectrum and Route of Action:
Ingestion is the primary route of action, with good contact activity. It has translaminar movement and is locally systemic. Lepidopteran larvae stop feeding within minutes of exposure. Provides long residual control (up to 21 days foliar).
Scope of Application:
Controls a wide range of insect pests including:
• Lepidopteran larvae (diamondback moth, cabbage looper, armyworms, cutworms, corn earworm, European corn borer, codling moth, leafrollers)
• Colorado potato beetle
• Leafminer larvae
• Suppression of silverleaf whitefly nymphs
Mainly used on:
• Vegetable crops (cole crops, tomatoes, peppers, cucurbits, lettuce)
• Corn/maize
• Rice
• Cotton
• Pome and stone fruits
