Biological Activity

Metrafenone is a benzophenone fungicide with a novel mode of action that interferes with fungal actin cytoskeleton and hyphal morphogenesis. It is highly effective against powdery mildew, including resistant biotypes.

Spectrum and Route of Action:

Protective and curative fungicide with surface redistribution activity. It inhibits spore germination, appressoria formation, and mycelial growth by disrupting cell polarity and actin organization. Provides good residual activity and controls resistant powdery mildew strains.

Scope of Application:

Controls a wide range of diseases including:

• Powdery mildew (grape powdery mildew, cucumber powdery mildew, cereal powdery mildew, apple powdery mildew)

• Eyespot (moderate control in cereals)

Mainly used on:

• Grapes

• Cucurbits (cucumbers, melons, pumpkins)

• Wheat and barley

• Hops

• Pome and stone fruits

• Ornamental plants
