Biological Activity

Amicarbazone is a triazolinone herbicide that inhibits photosynthesis at photosystem II (PS II). It provides pre- and post-emergence control of annual broadleaf weeds and certain grasses in sugarcane, corn, and turf.

Spectrum and Route of Action:

Selective herbicide absorbed by roots and foliage and translocated through xylem. It binds to the D1 protein in photosystem II, blocking electron transport and causing chlorosis and necrosis. Has both contact and residual activity.

Scope of Application:

Controls a wide range of weeds including:

• Broadleaf weeds (pigweeds, lambsquarters, morningglory, purslane, spurge)

• Annual grasses (crabgrass, foxtails, goosegrass)

• Suppression of sedges

Mainly used on:

• Sugarcane

• Corn/maize

• Turfgrass (golf courses, sports fields, lawns)

• Ornamental turf and sod farms
